This instrument is a copy of a French harpsichord made in 1769 by the great harpsichord builder Pascal Taskin. You can see and admire the original at "The Russel Collection of Early Instrument" in Edinburgh. This is probably the most copied harpsichord in the world! The instrument is a great representative of the French school of harpsichord building at its peak in the end of the 18th century.

The instrument has a compass of five octaves which means that it is excellent for playing all sorts of baroque keyboard music, especially the French music.

The keyboard has ebony topped naturals and sharps made of pear wood and bone.
