Business concept
During the last decades the popularity of playing baroque
music on original instruments has increased. However, the
access to original instruments is very limited. But luckily,
many old instruments have been preserved at museums around
the world and you can also find detailed drawings of them.
The business concept of TORNEDALENS CEMBALOBYGGERI
 is
to distribute high quality copies of harpsichords and clavichords
based on French, Flemish and Italian models from the 17th
and 18th centuries.
In the building process we use drawings of historical keyboard
instruments and we also make additional studies of the original
instruments at the museums where they’re kept. The access
to fine records of baroque keyboard instruments is fairly
good nowadays.
The instruments are mainly built on the customer’s order,
which means that he or she has a great influence in deciding
the design of the instrument. |
