K3. Unfretted Clavichord by the Phillipp
Jacob Specken model of 1743
This
instrument is a copy of a clavichord from the collections at
the Museum of Music in Stockholm (archive no: MM 1956/57 26)
signed "Phillipp Jacob Specken instrumentmakare in Stockholm
1743". The original keyboard has a chromatic compass of
four octaves. The naturals have prune wood toppings and the
sharps are bone topped. The instrument has a complete brass
strings register.
